Infant Developmental Movement Education Workshops

for Parents-to-Be, Caregivers of Babies,

and New Parents (with baby 1-3 months of age)

Workshops designed and taught by Natasha Martina and Donna Redlick

founders of Baby in Motion

Did you know that the support provided for an infant in its first year of life sets the groundwork for its future development physically, cognitively, and emotionally? Movement develops the brain!

Join Natasha and Donna, certified Infant Developmental Movement Educators (IDME) through Body-Mind Centering® and certified Laban Movement Analysts (CMA), guiding caregivers and infants to nurture baby’s efficiency in movement, self-perception, and use of expression. Natasha and Donna guide ‘new parents to be’ by offering two workshops: “Developmental Movement in Exploration” and “Touch and Handling Skills in the first Six Months”. See below for details.

“Developmental Movement in Exploration” educates parents-to-be about the various stages of development their infants go through in the first year of life from rolling, to crawling, to creeping to eventually standing and locomoting through space. Parents leave the workshop with a grounded overview of these stages along with handouts and resources. Please note this workshop is active so wear clothes you can move in. Participants are invited to come down to the floor, those expecting can adapt. A comfortable and supportive environment is encouraged.

Handling Skills with your Baby:  in the First Six Months

“Touch and Handling Skills with your Baby” educates new parents-to-be about essential handling and touch tools they can utilize to facilitate comfort and self-regulation.  Learn about attunement and non-verbal communication to support your baby’s needs, through touch, sensation, and sound.  Parents leave the workshop with a grounded overview on how to support their baby during the first six months of their life. Handouts and resources are provided. This workshop is participatory in nature; a comfortable, supportive and engaging environment is encouraged.
